Course Objective

By the end of the training, the participants would be able to:

• Learn about optical fiber network communication principle

• OFC cable planning and installation

• Restoration of OFC cuts and test the link with equipment

• FTTH network deployment at customer end

Course Duration: 4 days (Full day)

Prerequisites: ITI/Diploma/ Degree with basic knowledge in telecom network.

Who should attend: Any one who wants to work in optical fiber network.

Practical for Hand-on: Candidates will work with splicing machine and use for test equipment – OTDR, PM, LS, VFL

Course outline

• Identify different types of OFC cable and its standards

• FTTH network overview and its components

• Carryout splicing of cable, in case of cable cuts and testing effectiveness of joints

• Do the link budget and documenting the test result

• Carrying out planned maintenance testing and repair

• Installation of ONT at customer location – FTTH network

• Installation of fast connectors with ONT for FTTH network

• Preparation of Cat-5/6 cable and connect with RJ45 connector

• Coordinate with NOC for ONT configuration and make the link up

Certification:

Candidate need to appear for both theory and practical exam end of the program. Need to score

more than 80% in both exam to qualify for certification.
